Best GoPro mounting spots

I've got one in the mail. What are the best places to mount it?

I use one of the flat mounts and usually mount it right above my radio looking out the windshield. The suction cup can be mounted just about anywhere. The advantage to inside the cab is being able to turn it off/on and record and stop recording without having to stop the jeep and get out to do that.

Send a message via Skype™ to venom

we use them for filming for a wildlife show quite a bit
I have a mount on the tip of the stinger, one under the bumper and a suction mount with multiple swivels so it can mount on the windshield, side of the jeep, pretty much anywhere there's a painted body panel or glass.

I've placed them on the hood, on the windshield, doors, rear fenders and tailgate using the suction cup mount and one of the stick-on mounts. This movie used the rear fender, tailgate, and hood locations.

I use them all the time for footage on the boat. So far I have a flat mount inside the cab above the radio. Works great. I will be using the roll bar mount to install it to the bumper. As well as suction cups for everywhere else.

That was an enjoyable video. Makes me want to go to Rausch Creek. I really like the rear fender shot. The rear shot was good for your buddy. Thanks.

Anyone else have some videos using a gopro with cool placement?

I like the underneath shot! What did you use for a mount? Suction cup or something else?

OBTW, wherever you choose to mount your gopro remember to use a lanyard of some sort. The suction cup may be very very good, but it can still come off. Just sayin... an ounce of prevention is worth a whole lot more than a lost or smooshed gopro.

The bottom shot has one of the stick on mounts in a groove on a factory skid. I stuck a self tapping screw through it in case it wants to get loose.

Absolutely on the landyard. Mine popped off twice on that trip with the cup.

All over the Jeep. Don't get stuck on one area.

Upper driver window if the top is off works good to start/stop the camera.
Inside driver window is good, but a lot of hood view.

Fender/side of hood is good, but you get a lot of body panel.

Rear end is fun, but people have to stay pretty close to get the good shot.

I haven't tried underneath excet to place it in a rock bed for someone to drive over.

I'm pretty disappointed with JKO right now. I thought someone would have made some kind of enjoyable wise crack.

I mount mine on the dash above the radio, but i"m gonna try mounting it upside down to the left or right of the rear view mirror, so you can see more of the ground in front of the jeep and less of the hood. haven't worked up the balls to mount it underneath somewhere yet.

I've mounted mine up top on the windshield but find on warm to hot days, the ol Gopro shuts itself down due to the heat coming up from the hood.
Using the suction cup, I found either one of the headlights can produce some great footage.
