BING! Change oil, change oil, change oil!

I have had my jk for 2 years now and it has NEVER had the change oil message come on.....? What sets it off?
It only comes on display when I come to a complete stop.

Thanks,

Mat

It comes on about every 3200 miles on mile like clock work. It's an algorithm for cold starts, run time, load, etc

It absolutely shouldn't be on during a complete stop. Are you sure it's not the red oil can? Which means you have no oil pressure, and probably why you have never seen it in two years...

No oil can, just bing and says change oil over and over. Only at complete stops.

It also started right after I used aev procal for gear and tire size.

I'd say you have a module going south somewhere. For one thing it should have been telling you that every 3000 miles or so. Second of all the light should ONLY come on after sitting for so many minutes upon starting up. As in you start it in the morning, it chimes and goes away. It does not return in the same drive cycle...regardless of stops.

Oh, and to reset it, set the key to ignition but don't turn it over, pump the accelerator pedal three times within 10 seconds and then key off. Just had to reset it this morning, saw a bunch of threads talking about pumping the brakes.

Accelerator?? My manual says brake pedal on page 206...granted, I tried this and the damned chime persists. Gonna try the accelerator.

Edit:
I'll be damned. Misprint in the manual.
