2012 JK: The Promised Wrangler

I can go into great detail, but suffice to say, the 2012 is the JK we have been waiting for. The new 3.6 Penstar motor might be getting all the publicity, but it is the new heavier-duty 5-spd auto transmission that I am the most thankful for. With 4.10 gears and 37's, I am pulling hills at highway speed where my old '09 with 5.38 gears and 35's would struggle. For 4-wheeling, I will eventually swap in lower gears, once AEV's new ProCal is out, but it is no longer necessary to install deep gears just to keep from getting run over on the road. Thank you, Jeep engineers!

My newest rig, Greta, is a 2012 Unlimited Rubicon with a 4.5" Trailmaster Suspension, ORFab bumpers and sliders, Blackrock wheels with 37x12.50x17 KM2's, and a Superwinch:

WTF is on your windshield?

1988 Wrangler YJ, Q78-15s, some of this, some of that...
2014 Grand Cherokee Limited, EcoDiesel, RWD...
2013 RAM 1500 4x4, more buttons that I'm usually allowed to touch...
2007 JK X, just getting started...

That's the ORFab light bar/brush deflector/various crap holder. They had big KC-style lights on it for the photo shoot, but I will be putting nice slim LED's on instead.

I couldn't agree more. I'm only running 35's with 4:10's but it is night and day from my 08 2dr with 5:13's running the same tires and bumpers ect. There is no way I'm even considering regearing with my current setup. I coundn't be more happy.
