Rigid Industries light installation

First, I got the best wife in the world. For my birthday she bought me the Rigid Industries 50" LED light bar for my JK. There are two main problems and I need some advice on the second one. The first problem, the mounting brackets that come with it are not that great. Two small "L" shaped brackets with one mounting hole in each. You have to drill a hole in the upper joint of the windshield frame in order to mount them. I called their CS and they do sale a larger bracket for it, two legs that come down the windshield frame. It cost $300 for that. Thats the first problem. The second problem is the power source wire. If using the brackets that come with the light, you would have to drill a third hole for the power source. Has anyone else installed this light, if so, how and what did you do??

Hi Addiction i think they sold the wrong mount to your wife. The Rigid Industries Mount for JK are perfectly FIT the windshield. I could help you more if you show me some pictures

The Rigid mount allow you to place the cables into the mount so you can bring the cable down into the hood YOU DONT HAVE TO OPE A HOLE INTO THE WINDSHIELD FRAME.....

I ALREADY INSTALLED A FEW OF THEM ON JK AND TJ even ON YJ and will find out the pics to show you.

LEt me know ! ! !

Manny

If Taylor(Rigid) and Larry(PSC) can work it out, PSC does make one of the best windshield brackets I have seen for the Rigid lightbar (see: Brock's "CAIN").... I'm just sayin.

Good luck. Last I heard, it was a prototype with POSSIBLE production.

Addiction, those mounts are the ones that comes with all the "E" Series Lights to be mounted on any Flat surfaces ! ! ! So you wont need those small mounts to place your light on your windshield frame. All you need is the mount showed before to you. Give me a call if you want..... i will shut you my cellphone by PM.

Thanks Manny. I spoke with Shad at PSC and they do have a set of legs that RND has been working on. I should be hearing back from this today or tomorrow. So, I am holding tight for now. I need to get something done in the next week, as I am planning on heading to Moab for the 4th of July weekend. I will keep you posted. Thanks again!

Manny, first off, I think you're a pretty kewl cat. Always ready and willing to help anyone out. And oh, sweet YJ BTW, almost made me miss mine.

Second, what is the difference between the Poison Spyder's mount and Rigid's? They look almost identical in the pictures.

That's what I thought, thanks for clearing that up.

The Rigid mount is by far the sexiest mount out there!
