downshifting help

My wifes jeep is a 08 2dr wrangler x 3.8 automatic. I put 35's on it and it down shifts pretty bad. You can cut the overdrive on and it does good just high rpms..... Will a programmer help with this???? I know I need to regear it but I'm not ready to do that yet.... Just curious if programming it for those size tires will make any kinda difference?

If it's kicking out of OD often you need to regear. Benefits of regearing will be much greater than just adding a tuner.

the superchips with the advanced trans tune package would allow you to change the shift point so it's not as bad. basically you can keep it out of overdrive until you reach higher speeds/rpm's.
