Hit a deer :/

Sorry I'm on my iPad and can't upload the pics. Did a good job with the swerve and caught it with my driver side bumper and fender. Cracked the fender and popped the marker out which is cracked. Ill need a new bumper cover and fender also some hard piece of plastic grill looking thing fell out so a new one of that. Good thing I never did that stubby bumper or I'd be replacing a tire for sure!!! I have a 500 dollar deductible so that stinks. It's a 2008 sahara. Any idea what this will cost? How do I get a check cut so I can fix it myself? I have Geico for my money money money...

I was carrying and fortunately the deer did not have to suffer long.

It could have been much worse there was a Harley in front of me with a sissy on it riding 2. I'd much rather hit the deer then witness the deer hitting the couple in front of me and the events that follow that sort of thing

Wow, glad to hear you came out ok and that you didn't watch a bike hit it- I'm a rider too. What were you looking to replace- a 500 deduct you wont have a insurance claim to replace what I think you said got damaged. You might even be able to score the parts on here when other upgrade, fender might be tough since it's colored but still!

I wouldn't even bother with an insurance claim, if it's just the bumper cover and fender, the parts can be had for less then the deductible and easy to do yourself. Where are you located, I'm on tapatalk and can't see the "mini profile".

I've got a silver front bumper off a 2009 Sahara in Colorado if that would work for you.

Thanks for the help. I'm thinking it'll be cheaper then 500 as well. It's basically from the driver side tow hook over. Although I treat it like a jeep (beat the hell out of my tj) I'm also the guy that goes home and cuts the mud off and throws a fresh coat of wax on her so I'd like everything sparkly

-I have the fender(silver almost wish I got the sport now)
-side marker(my nice clear corner lens is shot)
-Then there's also a hard black plastic piece under the fender that cracked, must hold the fender rigid-looks like it's called a fender flare bracket
-black part of bumper from where you'd cut for a stubby over, although I'll need to replace it all.

I'm in Rochester NY if anyone knows anybody! Thanks!

Thought about cutting above the marker but the whole front is cracked, say if you were in the front and just kicked the fender, it bent downward cracking the fender as well as all the holes that attach it to the hood, cracked the paint, the bracket underneath etc.

alright. im using nuts and bolts to hold mine on. killed a snowman with the jeep and thats what broke the fender. it was held on by 550 cord for awhile.

On mine, the flare (non-painted) and assoc supports/parts came up to around $400. The bumper with fogs around $500. I can see if I can find the detailed estimate if you need it.

I got into a slight fender bender not that long ago. I wanted a new bumper just not that soon, but I got it anyway. I had a $500 also, so the way my insurance company figured it out was: how much a new bumper would cost from an approved collision shop (600) minus the deductible (500). I said never mind, I just won't file a claim. I bought an oem bumper from Rock Slide Engineering. I am now happy with it.
