I weighed my virtually stock JKU yesterday

... at a Transport Canada hwy truck scale.

4630 lbs! (2100 kgs)

And that is without me in the jeep and a 1/4 tank of gas (I also still have the hardtop on).

No wonder they're so gutless with the 3.8 engine.

God help me when I start installing a winch and winch bumper, more skid plate armour and eventually larger tires (I currrently am running 33" Duratracs)

I'm scared to weigh mine, and I had 100+ opportunities in 10+ states back in Sept...

I finally had Al skids, bumpers, sliders put on. Before diet mine was something like 7200. After about 5900. Climbs better now. Goes faster. All good.

I love Wheeling, it frees the mind

It's a fat pig for sure. Pretty easy for the weight to get pretty out of control with relatively few but heavy add ons.

I remember, wish I would of hooked up with you guys and wheeled Gold Mountain!
As for weight, speed bumps stress my engine. I just figured that it was up hill to work, and back.

The doors are just under 60lbs for the front and 45lbs for the rear each of course. I finally had to weigh them when I took them off this time.

I was wondering what those suckers weighed. Thanks for taking the time to publish that!
