Check your nuts (and bolts)!!!

Figured thread title would get some attention. LOL

I have had the squeaky suspension blues for the last few months. Constant squeaks everytime the Jeep shifted or suspension moved; only slightly silenced when raining.

I doused all bolt points with silicon spray and spray lubes numerous times but only minimal change. Retorqued shock bolts, control arm bolts and track bar bolts. Still the same squeaking.

Tonight I found the issue. I had a BDS frame side rear track bar drop bracket installed for at least 3 years. I visually watched the bracket as I pushed the Jeep body; bracket flexed like crazy and 2 of the 3 bolts were hand-turn loose. I removed the drop bracket and reinstalled the track bar to the stock point; instantly quiet.

Drop bracket is slightly bent and cracked, and all of the bolts holes are slightly ovaled. Good safety find. The bracket probably would have held for another wheelin trip or two, or a hard street turn before letting loose.

Check your nuts and bolts, all of them, even if it's a pain to do!!!

Pics of the cracked bracket; crack at about 5 o'clock of the bolt. The crack is not easy to see with the powdercoat cover.

Inside of same crack

Bolt holes

And fixed

Thanks for listening.

I'm good Dirty. Thanks. I have the TeraFlex wrap-around axle track bar bracket already installed. Was running both; track bar was almost exactly parallel to the axle.

Less added bracketry is a good thing.

Thanks. I should be good now. TeraFlex bracket on the axle and Poly bracket brace on the frame. I want to avoid the bolt holes ovaling, if the drop bracket fail did any damage. Brace should fix any issue there may or may not be.
