Transmission fluid Flush

Question. I have an external tranny cooler, and want to flush the entire system. Can I just disconnect one of the hoses connected to the cooler and let it drain? (in a container of course). i have about 10 Quarts of royal purple i'm waiting to top it off with and everywhere i go to get it drained wants to use their own stuff. Thanks for the help.

I am pretty sure you can and use the return line to suck up new as well. However, depending on how many miles you have you might want to drop the pan and replace the filter and clean the pan and magnet while adding the good stuff
