NOS?

Is it even worth looking into NOS to add cheap horse power or am I just looking at a waste of money??????

I am not looking to put a 300hp boost of nitrous on the jeep, like 50-100hp boost, just a little help when its needed.

NOS (brand) and the generic nitrous oxide has REALLY come a long way and the modern safety switches like WOT and RPM widows have made it relative safe.

HOWEVER - normally you set nitrous to activate at wide open throttle, which if you are Jeeping means you need to pick a new line or have your credit card ready to order up replacement parts.

Nitrous has come a long way over the years. It is safe if used in the correct way. Wet systems are the way to go. All you would need is a progressive controller for a vehicle like a jeep.

Down fall is keeping bottle temp up. To keep pressure at 800 to 1100 psi when low on juice. And running out because it is additive.

Yeah what they said. Whats the point?
But Absolute Offroad is running nitrous I do believe.

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

A large sand dune that someone is having problems getting up. Would not be a problem with a 75 shot.

The fact that you were even thinking about nitrous in ANY vehicle is absolutely absurd. Let alone in a Jeep. They aren't meant for speed.

Even if you were building a street CAR (domestic, import), nitrous is not the way to go. No respect for that waste. That type of question along with your "Rice" comment belongs on a Honda forum for teenagers with Civics.

Just to clarify......

I know that a jeep is not a race car......but I was wondering if NOS would help spin 35's

Not coming from the import tuner market, I did not understand the properties of NOS, now tho it appears that it will only add horse power at WOT and that doesent help with every day driving at all.

For those of you that assumed I wanted a JK rocket, well you know what they say about those who assume...

For those who enjoy their NOS powered vehicles....good on ya for using a product the way it was intended

and now back to your regularly scheduled opinions

Yes, it will help you spin your tires, but not in a linear controlled way. Basically at wide open throttle at 3000 rpm you get a massive boost in power. Fine for mud bogging, not fine for rocks.

He said street car, not trailer queen drag monsters. Nobody's arguing that NOS has it's uses in the racing world...just not in a Jeep with a 3.8l.

Exactly, but that's what happens when rookies don't understand situational awareness or pay attention to detail.

I fully support the use of elemental gases for quick horsepower boost. But ONLY at the track in a controlled enviroment. Using it on the street is retarded beyond any comprehendable means.

And the fact that hipkts008 wants to SPIN 35s... c'mon brosephous. Just turn in the keys and go buy something else. Seriously, if you want the nitrous and rubber burning, privately sell the Jeep and go get yourself a muscle or import. Then have at it all day long.
