TPMS when replacing wheels? I plan on 2 full sets.

Hello everyone,

What have you guys done about your TPMS sensors in aftermarket wheels? I put some studded snow tires on myu stock rims and now I am getting a second set of wheels for summer. I do not want to unmount the snows to get the TPMS sensors out, and I like the idea of being able to switch back next winter without going to a tire shop. Any aftermarket TPMS sensors that work? Anyone else have 2 sets of wheels?

I put up with the warning. You get used to the light after a while.

Those sensors are expensive and there in no way I want to run 35+ PSI in my mud tires anyway.

I dropped the threshold on mine to 25 PSI so I only have to deal with the light when I airdown. If I can't find cheap sensors, I will turn the system off completly. I hate warning lights on all the time, I either fix the problem I am being warned about, or eliminate the system.

If you get a Superchips you can lower the threshold all the way to 0 and eliminate the TPMS altogether.

After a bit of searching, I think thats what I will do too. I already have the superchips anyways, and I check my tires all the time anyways.

Once you get a new set of sensors I believe you also have to take it to the dealer so they can reflash to recognize the new sensors.

I bought mine over a year ago and am pretty sure it has it. I lowered the pressure, I will look and see if I can turn it off.

On another subject, I have not been able to update my Superchips since getting a new email address. The one I had when I registered the Superchips got canceled and I have no access at all, and no forwarding from it.

I put new ones in and didn't need the dealer to flash anything.

AEV ProCal has a lot of other functions along with turning off the TPMS. It works great and is priced right.
