you just unscrew the old antenna and screw in the new one. The new one did come with an adapter.... piece of cake to install

Like Grant said it just screws in where the old one was. BTW, it works well with AM and FM.

Another option if you are interested, If you are running a CB you can get a match maker that goes in line with your CB ant wire this will allow you to plug your radio ant into it. Works great and just remove the old ant base and put another trail rated emblem over the hole.

Do you have a link for what you are talking about? It doesn't interfere with CB operation at all?

Send a message via Yahoo to WTF_LOL

Looks like you already made your choice but if anybody else is reading this there was a discussion about this same thing a little over a year ago. Here is a thread with some more info and couple more pics...

https://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199

Also another one from the beginning of this year

https://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=332

Looks like that same antenna source website keeps coming up and seems to work well.

What the hell happened to John L anyway??? Courious to hear what the opinion on these are now after a years use...

Bodyguy,Thanks for the good info. How do you have your CB ant. mounted. I have the CB in (for the PA right now) but can't decide where/how to mount the ant.

American, Gun owning, God fear'n, Veteran, and I'm offended that you're offended.

On the tailgate with this teraflex bracket, I added a ground so that I am not just relying on the hinges for a ground.

Looks cool. The teraflex one the site shows mounts to the tail light but your pic gave me a great idea. Thanks again!

Still need to order one of these...Christmas gift to self, I guess.

Any loss/difference in reception between 8 or 14?
