Stupid question. Sorry

Weather man is saying almost 60 degrees by Friday. Do I need a torx or Allen wrench to take off the doors.

you need a torx... i think 40 or 45 ? cant remember .. i took mine out and never put them back in... or if you had to you could find a flat head screw driver that would fit and take them out that way

He is what I posted here and elsewhere. (No not the D-Bag site)

Removing the stock Jk doors is fairly simple. Here are some tips.
Park on level ground. Roll your windows down as this will make it easier later. Use a torx 50 socket head to remove the black torx caps at the bottom of each hinge. You might need to spary WD40 or something up in the hinge where the torx cap was removed to loosen up the hinge pin. Follow the wiring on the door toward the underside of the dash near the side foot kick plate area. Once you find the black plug you will see a red slide clip that locks the plug in place. Slide the red slide lock out until it stops, On the the black plug press the thumb release and pull down. The plug should slide out. Undo you nylon door strap from the strap hook and your door should swing freely all the way open. Be careful not to swing it too far as you stock mirror might hit the fender. Swing the door back and forth the work in the WD40. Note you might have to spray it several times and wait til it penatrates the hinge and loosens up. Once you are ready, open the door to about 90 degrees, reach through open window and grab the inside door handle with one hand and with the other hand lift straight up.The door should come off but sometimes takes a little english. Make sure you clean and lube the hinge pins before you reinstall the doors. This will make it easier to remove later. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't recommend using a flat head screw driver. Go to Harbor Freight or Sears and buy the correct tool--Torx 50 socket. And Bingo was his namo.

Use a torx or an allen, pull those screws out and throw them away! Mine have been out since I bought the thing. I dont even know where they are. I dont really know anyone that still has theirs in who takes their doors off regularly.

Enjoy the no doors!

like what he said. throw those damn screws in the trash! there is no need to put them in and take them out everytime you go and take the doors off. a pain in the ass! and just wait for that day when you're putting the doors on and you forget to latch it and it swings all the way open and you get a nice little ding on your hood vent...

Wait the doors come off these things? Holy shit!!

I tossed my torx screws in a bag and immediately forgot where I put em. It's not like someone's gonna say to themselves, "Hey, I should totally steal those 90# doors off that guys Jeep"

And if they do, that just means I'll finally be getting half doors.

SO SOMEMEONE COME & STEAL MY DOORS!
