Weird noise from the rear

I was putting my hitch mounted ski rack on the heep for the weekend and somewhat aggressively adjusted it to get the hole to line up for the hitch pin when I heard a noise.

The noise sounds like a knocking sound. Like two parts lightly coming in contact with each other. It is coming from somewhere under the jeep in the back and from what I can tell its on the passenger side.

I climbed under with a light and used my foot to rock the jeep back and forth (side to side, not front to back) while looking for something contacting something else. I cant find anything and everything feels solid. I cant for the life of me nail down where its coming from though. When im under the jeep it sounds like its almost coming from the cab. But when im in the cab i cant hear it. I havent tightened anything since i heard the noise because its like 15 degrees out and I figured id come in the warm and ask you guys what to look for before venturing back out. Any ideas what it could be?
