First real 4X4 outing with a JK

Well I finally got the time to get out and do some wheeling with the JK. All I can say is AWESOME! I usually haul my quad out and do my wheeling on that, which BTW, still amazes me where a locked and lifted Honda can go, but the JK is every bit as fun. However, a spotter is handy when driving a beast like the JK. LSS, my son wanted to get out for a ride in the mountains so off we went in search of wildlife on the backroads and trails. Came across some road washouts due to heavy rain and a couple road closures that we drove through or over. Didn't want to push my luck too much as we were alone and I don't have a winch (yet) none the less we had a great time and now have a better idea of what the JK is capable of.

Thanks everyone for all the tech help and such!

Sorry no pics this time out, forgot the camera at the front door... DOH! Next time for sure..

Your first time out...In the scenery of Ontario...AND you have the word PHOTO IN YOUR NAME!?!?

No excuse...You suck.

Just kiddin around. I'm sure that you had a blast discovering how much capability and fun a Jeep can be. Having a good set of tools and supplies (and a winch) will instill confidence to tackle some more challenging terrain. Glad that you had such a great time.

I break the "dont go alone rule" all the time. Get a winch though. Seriously.

AND TAKE PICS!

I'm jealous. Was gonna go wheeling today but I had hand surgery two days ago and tugging on a steering wheel all day didnt sound too appealing.

We'll see about tomorrow.

Hey, I agree .. In the ATV world these rules are strictly adhered to in our club. Winches and tools are a MUST and definitely don't go anywhere or do anything you are not sure of without partners and a vehicle of equal size. This is how you SAFELY learn the capabilities of your equipment.
Unfortunately in this area I have yet to find a Jeep club or at the very least another Jeep enthusiast to explore the mountains with... A winch will be the next mod I guess..
