Need a new front driveshaft

This may not be posted in the correct place, but here it goes.

My JE Reel front 1310 CV driveshaft is going bad; starting to chirp as of this morning.

Any vendors have any deals on driveshafts right now?

What driveshaft do you recommend for a 4 door on Dana 44s and 40s?

Thanks

Please disregard the question of recommendations. I found eMetal's poll from a few months back. Great info.

Is Woods the only company offering accessable zerks on the outside of the CV??

I need to know who has any deals going.

Thanks

I will check into them. I think I know them from a Suburban build, when I lived in Salt Lake.

You have to keep the CV greesed up or it will go out the only wat to get to that fitting is to take it out or take off one side and move drive shaft to get to it...

My tom woods front drive shaft just went out 16,000 miles i never knew there was one fitting I was not getting too...

I paid $235 to have it rebuilt and all new u joints...

I really wish I had a picture to show you...

Dont forget the rear now or it will go out next!!!!

Not to hijack, but i have a question about after market driveshafts. Does all of these companies, woods, je reel, tatton, etc, utilize the stock connections at the dif and transfer case?

I'm glad someone is asking these questions. I'm gonna need to replace mine before long as well.

Thanks to everyone for your input.

Jeepnick, I do have a local driveline shop that will rebuild for about $300. Both Grizz and Fishtale have worked the them with good results.
I pulled the driveshaft off, at the transfer case side, and greased all three fittings. The ball was just about dry but no damage from what I could see. Cardan seemed solid. Test drove and quiet so far. Hopefully I caught it in time.

AS OTHERS HAVE STATED, LUBE YOUR DRIVESHAFT ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR , OR IT WILL COST YOU!!!

Big thanks to PhilD for his great pricing on a new driveshaft, if needed one, and more information on checking mine for damage to save it. He saved me a purchase I didn't want to make right now. GREAT VENDOR!!! I will do more business with him soon.

probably too late but recently my JE REEL 1310 went bad.... the guys at JE REEL rebuilt my driveshaft and sold me a new one at a very reasonable cost... I'd talk to them. Now I have a spare front

Thanks for the info. So far so good on mine. I also have a spare JE Reel, from a Grizz takeoff. Going to check that one out as well. We assumed it was shot, but maybe not completely. Will be a good spare in the least.
