Went wheeling on my farm yesterday. Been out about 10 times since getting my JK in March. Have accumulated a bunch of trail marks, scratches and front bumper dents, but nothing major so far. Until yesterday!!
I was busting some new trails in my woods and running over those damn picker bushes I'm supposed to get rid of for my farm land assessment. The Rubi tires work better than clippers and I don't get and stickers in my legs!!
Anyway, got hung up on the smallest of stumps. The thing was about 10 inches high and about as big as a soda can. Never gave it a second thought when I saw it. Well that tough SOB dented the front and bottom of my oil pan. Caved the front in about an inch. It also pushed up on my gas tank skid, and the skid is now rubbing on the tank. Not sure what kinda of tree that stump came from, but it was tough. I couldn't even kick it over when I went to check it out.
Got back up to my house after about an hour of mud play and stump humping. Checked out the bottom of my JK and no leaks from the oil pan. It doesn't look pretty anymore, but it's not leaking. So I got that going for me which is nice. Ha!
I'm sharing all of this boring diatribe with you because I got a strange feeling while looking under the Jeep. I sorta felt good. Like hey, my Jeep got beat up a bit but but drove on to the objective. Sort of got a little Jeep chubby. I now that sounds weird, but that's how I felt.

I'm normally anal about my rides, and taking care of them. Just seems different for me with my Jeep.
Just said to myself, "oh well, time to bend the gas tank skid back, and get me an oil pan skid too". Even showed it to the wife, an she agreed I should get the skid. Too good.
FYI, my Poison Spider Evap skid got some good scratches in it but is holding up well. Glad I put that one on.
Anyway, glad my oil pan didn't burst but happy I got some trail scars. Lovin my JK!!
