Sam's Champion Winch?

Any know / used the Champion winch from Sam's? It's $400 for a 10,000lbs winch. I need a winch and have been looking at the Superwinch which runs in the $600, but for the price I wasn't sure about this champion winch.

Let me know.

Please- no pictures of Sam Champion's winch.

I have yet to hear of anyone using that winch- but I am guessing it's made very cheaply overseas. If you can swing the extra 200 bux, I would go with the Superwinch. jmo

Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's inferior. I know a few people that use the winch and have nothing but good things to say. Personally I would get the one that's half the price, make sure it has a decent warrenty, and use the money saved on other things. Not everyone has $600-1200 to spend on a product just because it has a popular name on the front. That name alone in a lot of cases is the only reason for the price increase.

My buddy just bought a Warn M8000 for $699 Canadian...I dunno if that means much. I had a Champion but never mounted it because when it comes to the rescue of my jeep and safety of my fellow off-roaders, quality is something i dont skimp on...now i know there guys out there that will argue this and say if its rated for 8000lb pull then its rated like any other winch, and to be safe use a snatch block, which should be used anyways cuz it takes stress of the winch but still, a company like Warn is out there and is well known for a reason. Compare it to procomp for lifts, they focus on both the jeep and truck community, where-as RK focuses on JEEP...just JEEP, which is also why RK has the high customer rate as they do, and Procomp not so much. Look at Crosby shackles, i worked at most of the major oil sites in fort mcmurray, Suncor, Syncrude, Kearl Lake etc and Crosby was the only shackle allowed on site...just because they were well known and trusted. Yes the Champion will do the job, but not as good as the Warn...JMO.

I ran that winch for about a year and a half. It never let me down until it sat underwater for 6 hours and was not cleaned.

I wouldnt hesitate to run it again.

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.
