So here's a simple poll.

If you were in the market to purchase a bumper, flares, or rock bars which finish would you prefer if these were your choices.

1. A smoother gloss black finish
2. A textured matte black finish

Smoooothe flat black. Not a big fan of texture finishes.

I like the texture. I know it is harder to clean, but I have rhino on my fenders and wrinkle on my bumper and tire carrier.

EDIT:
I did notice at Jeeptoberfest, that there was a small amount of light reflection off the non textured flares (painted), and my textured will never do that.

I always prefer bare. Powder coating just gets scraped or scratched. Which means I've got to take it off anyway to repaint it with a rattle can.

Save me the trouble.

X2 Although powder coat will be fine for some people who will never touch it up. A plain semi-gloss or satin powder coat makes touch up easier for those that scratch stuff up. Textured is only good for those that don't scratch stuff up.

thats not true, you can always hit it with flat black and it looks fine.

Powdercoating is a waste of money for armor, bumpers, and the like.

I voted for textured flat black, but i kinda agree with phil. I find that flat or satin black is easy to rattle can over and make look pretty good. There should have been a choice for "flat or satin black" instead of "textured."

Smooth. If I want texture I'll hit it with bedliner myself.

I like Gloss Black. I love when people say its a waste of money........ Maybe im a dumbass but i like my rig to look nice and when it does get scratched im cool with it but until then.....

texture black, i dont personaly like shiny black but thats just me.

another for textured black.... Same powder coating Jeep uses on their rock rails..

i love that texture as well and have duplicolor bed lined many parts lol.

My bumpers and sliders are coated in semi-gloss black. They've all been touched up with Rustoleum semi-gloss black. Can't tell.

I vote for satin black.

I like the smooth satin look. I use "Zero Rust non flat" on my bumper and anything underneath.

Texture powder coat is much tougher than smooth-- at least thats what my PC buddy told me

Smooth semi OR satin... but NOT gloss.

And FWIW I'm one of the rattlecan crew and would rather start with bare steel and primer/paint it myself. PC is nice BUT it's gonna get fawked up so ease of touch up is a must.
