A SEMA exclusive Sneak Peak at Superchips new in cabin programmer

Here is an exclusive sneak peek at Superchips next generation in cabin tuning product the Vivid that is being shown for the first time at SEMA this week. The Vivid is an android based product that offers a wide variety of apps and options. Look for its release around February of 2011.

For those who already own an android based device Superchips will be offering the “AVID” a Bluetooth Dongle that provides the link between those Android based products and the Superchips VIVID tuning app.

Plans are to release AVID in Summer 2011.

I'm thinking AVID! I love my Hero, and if I can use it as a Jeep COMM I'd love it more!

So, if I already have a Bluetooth dongle will I only need the software? Will this be something I can buy through the Droid Market for my X? I have a feeling this isnt going to be a $5.00 app!

No word as of yet on a trade up program but I will poke management on the idea to see if the flinch. Yes it will do everything the Flashpaq does and more.

I would assume the Dongle is going to a proprietary piece for safety purposes when transferring data.
No word on pricing yet. I will update once available to me.

Nice!

So.... what is the expected pricing (VIVID, AVID, Android App) ?

Will the Superchips Android App work with other bluetooth OBD II dongles?

EDIT: See you already addressed these questions.

And X2 on the trade up program.... tell management that you want to support those who already support you... (or whatever it takes to sell it to them)

Dammit!!! I JUST bought my Flashpaq! I also have a Droid, so I'd definitely be interested in either a trade-up program, or the avid dongle for other android devices.

Here is a beta shot of the VIVID tuning device with the new main screen menu shown. With it being a beta rendering more than likely it will be somewhat different from the main launch menu.

http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...ithIcons_2.jpg

The Archos unit employs an HD video camera and plays back HD video on the 720p screen and as you can see from the icons has WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The WiFi is 802.11 b/g/n.

For those interested in GPS apps, the device will work with many of the GPS antennas commonly found on sites such as Amazon.com. Most GPS app providers such as Google and Navigon offer just a one time fee to get the app installed to your device. Quite a few of the antennas on Amazon.com run at a 10 Hz refresh rate which is much better than many of the smart phones on the market which run at a refresh rate of 1 Hz.

More info to come as I get it.

I was planning to order a Flashpaq next month. Now I guess I need to hold off until I can get some information on trade up or release date for this! I would hate to spend the $$ for the Flashpaq only to have this release a month or 2 later!

Please, ANY hint of a release date and price point? Do you need a beta tester??
