Emissions maintenance

Took my JK in for the auto trans recall today and the dealer says I need to have an emissions check since it was due at 7500 miles and now I have 9700.
The owners manual talks about it but doesn't say at what interval its supposed to be performed. There is no mention of it in the schedules themselves. I don't get a good vibe from this dealer so I want to know if I need to shell out the $50 or are they blowing smoke up my a$$?

As far as I am aware Michigan does not require any emissions test, although I may be wrong. I've never heard of it been a 7500 mile service item.

Never heard of it! What does the inspection include?

If yours is a 2009 0r a 2010, the first emissions related service is "Inspect and replace PCV valve if necessary"† @ 90,000 miles or 90 months.

† This maintenance is recommended by the manufacturer
to the owner, but is not required to maintain emissions
warranty.

The next item is "Replace the ignition cables and replace the spark plugs" @ 102,000 miles or 102 months.

Thanks, this confirms my suspicions. They are the only dealer in town so I'll use them for warranty work but go someplace else for anything else. When you google them all the reviews are bad and a coworker had a bad experience with them. I just don't understand why Chrysler and their dealers would risk a long term customer for a very short term gain.
