Definitely pricing the doors out is insane...like $1000 for the door metal, $800 for the plastic, $500 for the fasteners/handles/locks and, of course, the uppers are priceless.
(I don't know the real prices).
When they were available, it was a $0 option...they swap out the full doors, remove the hardtop option(s) and the power convenience pkg. Really limits the “luxuries” they'll allow but the Jeep is so much more open and I don't worry about electrical gremlins or even theft, for that matter...no opportunistic thief seems to be interested in a vehicle they don't have to break into...
As it is, my OEM half doors have effectively cost me $3000-ish as I eventually purchased the hardtop separately. In the course of arriving at that point, I went through plenty of softop options - OEM, Mopar and Bestop - full softop with frame/bikini/wraparound windjammer and duster...had to go the full mile to realize I don't like any of those soft options, OEM or aftermarket. Don't even need the bikini now cuz the hardtop's freedom panels can be used as such...wish I had known that earlier. Sucked that I couldn't get a hardtop with half doors from the factory.
One of these days, all the soft options will go up for sale to include the rear seat/seatbelts, fenders, carpet, softop frame and all fasteners. Shit was all removed within 500 miles of new and has been stored with care. I'll prolly get about $10 for it all, making the effort to sell near pointless.
