Factory half doors discontinued?

Was at the steal-yer-shit for a recall and just for kicks, I asked a sales rep to price out a rubi 2 door with factory half doors. No can do. No longer an option.

WTF fiat, you stupid bastards. This was literally my favorite OEM mod ever.

Is this guy just an idiot, or did Jeep seriously remove these from production?

I don't see an option for half doors when building a jeep on their website.

Same here. How could Jeep just do me dirty like this? Best add-on from the factory there ever was.

JL's never have been able to get half doors. They did have the donut concept with glass to be able to see through them.

If I'm running half doors, I sort of like the aftermarket take on them. For metal, there is Savvy and JCR. If plastic, Strike Force Zebra. SFZ may be defunct now. Had a great product (I have them), but a bunch of dumbasses when it came to business.

Donut concept is dead according to Jalopnik. I feel like I just got set back 10 years. I remember having this problem when I bought my Jeep in 09

Long time no talk. Yeah, that idea actually has some merit. Maybe I'll talk to Perry...

Why just why

Not sure why would they do this. This is great for off-road and just for a more chill road trip! what could their intention be? Maybe they have another version that is 2.0 and much sturdier..i dunno.

suddenly the " building my own halfdoors" thread's viewcount rises...
I saw the final mod of my four door being the halfdoors w/ GenRight Bpillar kit ...once the cage was in & after I'm broke from real axel housings...

Well, Savvy are lighter ,anyway.

Because Jeep is being run by fuckwits who think decals and useless plastic vents are what we really want.

Can ya believe she's 10 now? Smart as her mother, (thank the Lord), but sassy as her father (Lord help me.)

I already promised to keep the modification budget firmly below 20% of the purchase price when I buy my next Heep. I think we both know how that story ends...

you got that right. I think it is the tits that FCA is now headed by the Jeep team guy. Jeep Wrangler drives that company. But there absolutely appears to be almost too-much ( ?) appeasing the masses of mall crawlers. This GLadiator is all business from rear wheels forward but it is so long & imo ugly.

.I just cannot get into the look of the trucks.

My wife sent me this from her office today & we both just were stupefied by how we neither could find a look about it that we like. I reminded her of the present markups & just the base price of one such-as the non-Rubicon seen here.

To me it just comes across like an Unlimited JL which haz a truck bed on it bringing a new standard to complete & total douchebaggery delivered by broh wagon .

Needs ~10" of wheelbase, ~20" of body, and ~20K of price cut off:

EDIT2: better pseudoshop pic:

THEN . . . they can

EDIT: sorry for the shitty 'chop, but you get the idea

I fixed the bed, but didn't dick with the wheelbase (MS paint fookery - obviously )

holy crap , that looks SO MUCH BETTER.
I would be going apesh*t , Gladiator gaga over them as everyone
else is if that (+ a shorter wheelbase) were the vehicle.
you have beyond acceptable MSPaint skills, dude. Are you running Windiws10 & the
upgrade to Paint3D yet ?
you'll hate it....lol.

I'm using Windows 10 (set to look and act as much like 7 as possible) & old-school MS Paint.
Paint3D is not an upgrade, based on the ~10 minutes I've had it open in the last 2 years

I updated my pseudoshop chop for you (or me )

Name: JT FIXED3.png
Views: 79
Size: 301.4 KB

I'd (begrudgingly) give $40K for that with Rubicon mechanicals, rubber floor mats, and a basic stereo.
They can even leave off all the badges and steekers (save me the peeling )

EDIT: I want to see the 2 pics together w/o adding another "off-topic" post to this thread

Not bad, considering how "easy" it was. I got really lucky with the angle of the original photo. That let me just copy/paste or stretch rectangular selections, almost no freehand work.
