Two door hardtop inside a four-door.

OK, here is an odd question: does a two door hardtop fit inside of a four-door Wrangler? I am going to buy a two door hardtop from my guy. I would like to drive it home inside of a four-door that I also own. Does it fit?

Measure the width of your rear window. (Early ones are narrow) and the width of your tailgate opening. Then get your guy to measure the 2 door top from front to back. You will have to put it in sideways for it to work, if it will.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I am in the middle of a 6 Hour Rd. trip and do not have access to a tape measure to take the measurements myself.

OP can stop to post on JKO but can't stop to buy a measuring tape.
We are doomed.

well considering the tops on the 4 door and 2 door are the same width and height, common sense says no.

I was thinking that too, but if you drop the seat in the 4dr and put the 2dr top in sideways as previously mentioned?
