Reinstalling sway bar bushing

I have a Rubicon and the sway bar link came off where it attaches to the axle, due to the people who last worked on it leaving off the large washer that holds the bushing in place. The link popped off the bushing.

I am trying to reinstall the bushing into the link, but it is so hard to keep it straight going in because the bushing is rubber. Is it press fit? I am trying to use a C-clamp. Any other suggesting other than removing the whole link from the frame mount?

The bushing is round with "lips" on both ends to seat into the link.

Take the link off and use a press. You'll spend less time than you are screwing around with it.
I've seen people on the internet use a bolt, set of washers and tighten the bushing into place, too.

I did a quick mock up for you.

Soapy water to slick it up helps too.
