Soft top issues

Ok I have been reading and have tried all the tricks that I have seen but I need help. I have a 2012 Wrangler unlimited and it only has the soft top. When I first bought the jeep it was great and the top operated like it was supposed to, but at some time something has happened. Now when I go to close the top the latches are about a 1/2 inch short. I can push the header bar up and latch them but it is so tight that the latches are almost flush and you can not get your fingers under them to open it again. I have to use a screw driver to pry the latch far enough to open with my hand. I have no leaks or anything it is just a pain to deal with. I have also took the top completely off and put it back on again and that did not correct the problem.

Have you tried latching the header first and then attaching the rear sail panels after? I push down on the rear bow when attaching the sail panels on either side of the gate...
