Soft top question

Need some advice. I bought my 2007 jk used about 5 years ago. It came with the dual tops. The original owner never installed the soft top as I have not yet either. Now I am wanting to use the soft top for summer but it has not had the header replaced from the plastic to metal. Would it be in my best interest to change the header out now or go ahead and use it as is, mainly because I have never even been in one with the soft top so I have no idea as to how noisy it is going to be and if will stay with it or not. So how loud are they and should I fix the header before I install it? I checked with my local jeep dealer and they said that there is no warranty on the header.

I have an 07 and the stock top whistled and howled on the highway.

I'd put it on your 'to-do' list and get the metal piece ordered but would not let it stop me from enjoying the soft top.

Thanks for the replies. Just wasn't sure how loud and how long the header would hold up. Last soft top I had was on my '49 Willys and it was LOUD!

I changed my header out as soon the metal headers come out....2008/9 or thereabouts. Made a huge difference in noise. Replace it, your ears will thank you.
