'07 JK coolant

My dad, who passed away this past year, had a '07 JKU. It hasn't been driven much lately, but back when it was warmer it ran a little hot one day. I checked the engine coolant and it looked to be low. I've looked up and read a few things, but have got mixed comments especially with different year models. I was wondering if you all could tell me specifically which coolant I need to pick up for it.

Which coolant (please be very specific) that can be picked up any most any auto parts store? Preferably one that is pre-mixed.

Can I just add it or do I need have the the system flushed?

Thanks.

My condolences for your Dad , the coolant in your '07' do you know if it has changed within the last few years ?

Any of the red stuff will work , but I personally don't care for the silicone type it can become corrosive near the end of it's life more so than the glycol type .

Peak is the brand that I have used in my vehicles and have had positive results .

Distilled water is another recommendation I will make for you to use to mix with the coolant .

Red Line water wetter is an additive that will also help with lubricity and surface tension in the system as a protectant .

Take care of the old man's Jeep .

Your '07 came from the factory with HOAT coolant, (Hybrid Organic
Additive Technology).
Since you need to only top it up, premixed HOAT coolant will be fine.

If your '07 has never had the cooling system flushed, you should get it done.
Make sure they use the correct coolant.

Genuine Mopar Fluid (part# 68048953AB) Antifreeze/Coolant - 1 Gallon Bottle
can be found on Amazon /eBay for between $20-$30 a gallon.
i would run this versus any per-diluted or mixed, parts-store brand.
However, do not put anything other than HOAT compatible in the 2007-2011 3.8l radiators...there are now OAT and others that will confuse you. Just order the Mopar from Amazon or dealership ( it'll cost more at the latter)
This stuff is costly because it is intended to last longer.
Flushing is recommended by the service /maint schedule you can find in the Owner Manual in the glovebox. Flush at past 100k miles so I think you're ok for now....just top it off with HOAT from Mopar and you should be ok unless you know more than you have revealed.

Zerex HOAT is the only non-Mopar option that I know of for the 3.8L that is ok to mix with Mopar HOAT.
