roofrack strap tie down attachments?

So I'm going to drive up to Tahoe from SoCal with my wife and our 2 year old so that she (the 2 year old) can experience snow the right way. I have this bitchin sled (old school, wood/metal, with leg steering) that I wanna take up with us but I don't have a way to attach it. I thought that I can use my old ski rack (used it on the XJ) but it's not wide enough for the JK hard top gutter mounting (I extended it to the max and still no joy).

Anyways, is there a product that anyone can think of that is easily obtained (amazon prime same day delivery or a local store purchasable) that I can attach to the gutters in order to have "tie down" loops so that I can put the sled directly on the roof?

Roof Rack option

We have a pair of gutter-mount Yakima load bars (72"?) leftover from an older car which, at almost full extension, fit the JK hardtop. Perhaps you could borrow something like that from a friend, rent them from a local ski shop, or be found on Craig's List?
