15 JKU Manual running a 2.5" with 33s

Just a quick question, looking to do a lift and tires and wheels soon and after talking to some local guys here in Colorado, I was convinced to keep it to a 2.5" lift with 33" tires. Will my 6 speed with 3.21 gears be fine with this task?

Yes you will be fine with that setup. Watch your belly height though. Lots of dragging over things.

When I had a 2012 2 door with 3.21's with 33's (6 speed manual), I wanted to punch a baby every time I drove it. And I live in flat land. It sucks. Couldn't get it re-geared fast enough.

I would recommend that you look at the gearing chart if you have not already done so and stay within the blue "performance" band for your given tire size.

I ran 35" MTRs on 4.10s and though it is in the "green" zone of the gearing chart, it still sucked and was a dog.

What I run now are 37" Nittos with a 5.13 axle ratio. That puts me one degree into the blue band. The jeep feels good on the road and the rocks. It feels spritely without feeling like it is geared too low. With 33's that would be about the same as a 4.56 gear ratio. 4.10s might be a good ratio.

Now that I have a blower, I still like the 5.13 ratio and would not change that.

That bad? Haha. Dang. I'm getting mixed reviews. I want to regear eventually but while I save money for that, I was thinking about the 33" and 2.5 lift combo.

Do it, it's not going to be as bad as you think. I ran 35s on my '14 6 speed/3.21s for almost 2 years.

If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

will it be drivable yes.
will you want to regear yes.

you will use a little more clutch, and 6th gear won't come into play nearly as soon.

you won't pull trailers with it at all, and if on a lot of hills you will find yourself downshifting more

will it survive until you save the coin to regear? it should
