4wd help?!

so today i went out wheeling a little...i hit this sugar sand spot in 2wd and ended up getting stuck...so i quickly try and throw it into 4wd and when i pulled back on the stick to put it in 4 i heard a snap and than lost all ability to put it in 4wd....any ideas at all on whats going on?...it feels like the 4wd knob isnt attached to anything when i try to move it....

You likely snapped part of the linkage, and I bet it was the plastic part.

yeah that clip has broken on lots of them. Is there a trail fix fir this? I know that I should have a spare but its too late fot this trip.

Mine broke at the shifter itself and not at the t case. After pulling the console I saw it the pos plastic clip broke. My fix to get home was a zip tie but I ended up turning a piece of Teflon on the lathe for a bushing then added an e clip to it. For that warm and fuzzy rigged feeling I stuck another zip tie on over that.

this is what i was talking about. reamed out the middle until it fit over the peg, then used needle nose pliers to squeeze into groove on peg.
