2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport JK.
I have been through hell with Chrysler denying me financial assistance on my JK for a bearing issue that came up in the engine.
My dealership charged me $1700 just to take the engine apart to look and see what the problem was. They diagnosed it and had a Chrysler rep come out and said
"Lack of lubrication caused bearing failure"
This is complete bull-sht. I have had 11 oil changes in 3 years out of the recommended 8. That is an oil change every 5,500 miles. I did none of them at the dealership because they scratched my window the one time I brought it in for a quick fix.
They have had my Jeep hostage for 1 1/2 months waiting for me to decide if I will pay the $6900 to replace the engine!
I have spoken to lawyers and multiple calls to Chrysler and they keep shutting me down. My next step is small claims court.
What do you guys recommend and have you ever been through this? Is there any documentation that anyone knows about regarding defects in bearings. This car never ran low on oil and never had warning lights. It has $10k in upgrades other than the engine.
