Removing drive shafts

Is it just me or is it ridiculously hard to pull the rear ds off the axle? Tried knocking on the flange with a hammer and still nothing... use more man muscle or... ?

Mine was tough also. I used a hammer and pounded on the shaft itself where it tapers up to the full diameter. Hammering away from the diff of course.
I tapped, and rotated until it slid out...

I'd actually prefer the DS's to be a PITA to get out over just falling off when you take the bolts out, just sayin

I understand the Jeep thing
