Question Time for a new mule?!?

Betsy is getting tired...

She's a 2007 Sahara Unlimited, and still gets the job done. But my wife got a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited late last year, and the difference in the two is noteable (pulling the boat, etc).

So my question is...
What should my strategy be?

I've read differing reports about the changes due in 2017 or 2018. And my fear is that they (Jeep) make sacrifices for fuel economy. Or is it smarter to wait and get some better benefit (like better fuel economy)?

Thoughts?!?

Sounds like an excellent time for a LS engine swap!

Wait for the update. If it has what you want pull the trigger. If it's crap ( who knows what Fiat will do) then do the LS swap etc.

How much do you have invested in the Sahara? If you have the lift and all the rest you want on it then a Hemi swap would make sense. Our primary client at RPM is the tired old 3.8 owner that has tons of dollars tied up in his JK but does not want to start over. We have clients from all over that ship and have us do a swap. 450 hp will pull any boat way beyond the suspension capability!
