Off-road trailer tent.

Hello all, I've only been a member for a short time, and haven't reallt posted much, just been reading alot the past few months. Now I finally have a question or two that hoping some of the more experienced folks can help answer. For a few weeks I've been trying to research off-road trailer tents, but there doesn't seem to be any dealers/builders anywhere near me...or at least I'm not searching properly. I usually like to see and touch things in person before buying so this has been a big problem lately. Does anyone recommend any particular model, brand, etc?

So far the only one that really stands out to me has been ecotrekcamper.com the T-2 ot T-3 model. They're not located anywhere near me, but I will be heading to Tenn. in the next few months so I figured it may be worth a shot to look.

Any info on any brand, model, exp. anyone has would be great. I thought about making my own, but between work and normal life I just don't have the time. Thanks in advance everyone. Sorry for the long post.

I purchased a T3 from EcoTrek earlier this year and spent almost 5 weeks out west. I have absolutely no complaints about the unit and the owner, Jeff Oliver, is great to work with.
He will build a unit just the way you want it provided it meets safety and DOT requirements. I believe he may have a couple on sale for around 6K.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Modlfrek...I did see the Ecotreks. Those things are exactly what I'm looking for, definitely have my eye on the T-2 & T-3. Good to know the owner is a good guy. I'll be traveling to Tenn in a few months and was thinking it would be awesome to return with one of those! When I get home tonight I'll be checking out the jumpingjack site. Thanks again guys. PS. I checked out the Mopar ones...for the price they didnt seem to offer much.

You haven't said what exactly you're looking for in a tent trailer, but a Lifetime Tent Trailer is another great option. It's basically a smaller, more trail-friendly version of the Jumping Jack that opens up to 2 "full" size beds, a 7' ceiling, and the ability to carry an ATV or side-by-side atop it. Here's mine on 35's:

You can find a lot of offroad trailer discussion in the Expedition Trailers forum on Expedition Portal.

Do they still make the Lifetime trailers? I've looked at them in the past and now that I'm finally willing to shell out the cash, I can't find any for sale.

Just throwing this out there as an option... One of my closest friends owns the company. Builds the trailers to suit the customers needs. They are darn sure built to last! If you happen to contact him, ask him to show you what happened to one of his customers trailers... some guy turned right into it a couple days after he brought it home. Bent up a step and the fender, TRASHED the Honda!

I'm sure if this is something you want... Jason will find a way to get it to you!

build what you want, then you get exactly what you want for much less money.

i probably have $700 in the trailer not including the tent itself. I got a mig setup on Craigslist and slowly learned how to weld

could even support her up there
