Like everyone else I needed an air solution for the trail. I chose e-lockers over ARB so installed onboard air is not required. I only need air for my tires and camping related items like air mattresses. I looked at CO2 and almost went that way, but didn't want to deal with refills. So this is what I did.
I purchased a Puma 12v compressor from ebay
$234 free shipping
Then I got a Harbor Freight starter kit
for the hose and various fittings. $15
And for wiring I picked up some Jumper Cables from Home Depot
I put it all together and it fills a 315 70 17(34" actual) duratrac from 15psi to 30psi in 90 seconds. The tank had about 75 lbs when I started the stop watch.
I'm not claiming this solution is as good as or better than any others, but it should work well for what I do. It also allows me to move the compressor to the truck if I need to.
On to the important part of any post/thread, the pictures.
