Jk Wreck

. Having to deal with a wreck from last Friday. Police report will not be done for until the end of the week, so filing under my insurance to get things started. I was stopped at a stoplight with two cars behind me when the red tow truck did not realize how backed up the traffic was. I hear the screeching brakes look into rearview see what is going on and gas it to get in the field. Thought I made it when BAM I am hit and spun around. 5 cars total.

Wrecker - Driver OK
Mazda Mini Van - Hit by wrecker thrown into Encore and then through oncoming traffic. Hit by another car in oncoming traffic. Jaws of Life - serious injuries
Encore - hit by mini van and then into the rear of my jeep. Taken in ambulance with moderate injuries
Fled seen car - Car that was in oncoming lane took off
Me - Almost flipped by made it out the best - Just a few sore spots

While the overall damage looks moderate I noticed my rear axle was not exactly straight anymore. Would not mind a total ( if frame damage) and a 2015 JKU.

Glad to hear you're alright! Was the tow-truck driver charged? Here's hoping the insurance company cooperates and you can get a new one!

Damn. Glad you are okay! Seems like alot of wrecks lately.

I live on highway 15 and on the 29th of may; a girl in a '02 impala lost control at 55 and took out our mailbox and ended up ass backward in the ditch. Airbag fail to deploy and she was pregnant. Both ok.

Little black kitten under her foot caused it.

Yeah tow truck driver was found at fault. Just waiting on the police report so I can contact his insurance. I have my insurance starting the appraisal process, but of course it never goes fast enough.

Dont say a word to their insurance. ONLY talk to your insurance and let them deal with the other guys insurance. Your insurance works for you. The others guys insurance is going to try to screw you hard. You will not have your rates raised or anything for letting your insurance fight for you.

Just something I have learned throughout the years.

CORRECT! There is NO need to talk to them because they will try to get you to say something to indicate that you might somehow be at fault in order to deny your claim! Anything you say, can and will be recorded and used against you! You speak ONLY to YOUR insurance company!

I hope things work out for the better for you. Interesting the frame folded. I would have thought the control arms would have bent well before the frame gave way. Probably just the angle it was hit from.

While it may be a hassle, the jeep can be replaced. Thank the Lord that you have all your faculties. Hopefully the other people injured will make it. Glad you're ok.

Glad to hear that you're okay. Do get checked out just in case, even if it is something very small.

One thing that amazes me is how well our Jeeps hold up in accidents.

I just went through this last fall. My insurance company (AAA) paid me for the totaled Jeep. Don't accept their first offer either. Piss and moan about aftermarket equipment yada, yada, yada. I was very pleased with the payout, I would have been able to buy a Jeep that was at least as good or better than what I had, but I decided to buy a brand new one instead.

What is your tipping point?

See if you can buy it back, depending on how bad the frame is. You might have enough cash left over to do a stretch, comp cut, and other cool stuff.

If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
