No power, loss of power?

I think my jeep has been losing power lately, yesterday i was in some mud (only a few inches) and couldnt go in 4 hi. And driving its gutless, its a 4 door with some heavy stuff added but i only run 34" tires ( almost 34) and have 4.88 gears. it a auto. i noticed that the one cat is banged up a bit, would a clogged up exhaust from the cat breaking up cause a power loss? i would think it would throw a check engine light. not sure if it matters but the motor prob has 30-40k on it rest of the jeep has 92k on it.i did have to put the orginal injectors back in newer motor cause it had sat so long they clogged up. i wonder if i have a vacuum leak from taking upper intake manifold apart to change injectors?

A plugged up cat could definitely cause a power loss if it was bad enough. May be worth checking into. Try lightly banging on the cat with your hand and see if it rattles (which could indicate that the insides might be broken up a bit). If it doesn't rattle it doesn't guarantee it is good, but if it rattles it is likely damaged inside, whether it is the cause of your issue or not.

Couldn't hurt checking for an intake leak as well. Do you have a propane torch? Puffing a little propane around the manifold gasket (and anywhere else you suspect a leak) while it is running and listening for an RPM change is a simple way to check for a vacuum leak (pro tip: don't light the torch).

Good luck.
