Belt tensioner, polymer pulley swap for metal ones and belt

Hi all,

New guy here. Just got my 2010 JKL 2 weeks ago and I want to replace the belt as it has cracks and frayed around edges. Also want to get rid of the polymer pulleys as ive had bad experiences with those types in other cars.

Is there a direct replacement metal pulley you guys have been using? from my understanding is that the stock pullet is a 70 x 25 x 17 mm pulley

Thanks in advance.

Guess nobody has attempted this before. I am going to try swapping in a Gates 36101 pulley which is metal instead of polymer.

I don't think I've seen this reported as an issue with the 3.8s but let us know how it goes for you.

I've replaced the belt tensioner pulley before. Takes about 10 minutes. Replacement part from any parts house is cheap, way cheaper than at the Jeep Stealership. When it goes bad it makes a whining whirring noise and can be detected and separated from other engine noise by using a mechanics stethoscope.
