Getting a new jeep - tire/lift advice, hard top/soft top in New England?

Hey All,
I'm finally getting back in to a Jeep after driving a Subaru for 2 years. I was driving over 100 miles a day and the Jeep was just not good for highway driving that far every day. This jeep will be my DD. I've read a lot about this stuff but wanted to explain my particular situation.
I am deciding between a 2 door Willy's Wheeler and 2 door Sport S. If I get the WW, I want to keep it stock but get some better tires (I won't be mudding/don't like the stock KM2s), which I think would require different wheels and tires. What is the best wheel/tire combo if I'm staying stock?
If I go for the Sport S, I will be going 2" mopar lift. I want to do 16s (Mamba MR1X) with 33's, but I noticed a lot of the 33's are "E" range tires...will all of that extra unsprung weight (~10 per tire/wheel) cause any issues/wear on my drive train?
Another question for people in New England after this crazy winter: how did your soft top hold up? I'm debating between going hard or soft top and want to know how the softs held up for this insane winter.
Thanks
