First time doorless

With the mercury in the 80 degree range today and not having to work I decided I'd go doorless for the first time. Removal is super easy. I did find that the doors liked being open 90 degrees for easiest removal. I had a little bit of rust on the hinge pins so they were greased up with waterproof grease.

Drove around a little today - ran over to Cabelas and did a few errands. Took me about 3.6 seconds to realize that doorless is where it's at. If you've never done it, make it a point to do it soon!

The black piece that goes around the door, two knobs on top of each. Unscrew them then lift straight up... they fold to make storage easier

Only reason I leave my surrounds on is my bikini attaches to them

LOL! I told my neighbor it's as close as I can get right now to having another motorcycle yet being able to haul the family at the same time.

I haven't had a chance to run with the doors off yet. I have to clear a spot to stow them somewhere. The weather was really nice the past couple of days and ended up riding one of the bikes to work. It's a hard decision to pick between a topless Jeep and a motorcycle. Yeah, life's rough!

Wait until you are stuck next to an 18 wheeling doing 80 on the free way and remember those tires blow out rather violently. But it is nice to have them off

Ha, I think that would hurt a bit more if you're on a motorcycle.

I think MythBusters tested that myth, in fact.

Most definitely but I've never been on a motorcycle at high way speeds

They did and I think they had problems confirming it, but it happen to a guy at my work. He wasn't killed but the tire came through his side window and f*cked him up. He was out of work for about 3 months.

Today was my first crack at doors off as well...Since I can't get my soft top down because of the Wild Boar Rack (even with a tilt basket) The doors off were definitely as nice or even better then top down cause I didn't have to have the hot ass Fl sun beating on me.

time to ditch the rack and get a bikini top for a lil shade yet still open air driving. I love my new soft doors, I was stuck in traffic yesterday when I decided to take the doors off. I didnt even have to pull over just pulled the parking brake lifted the doors out and stuck them in the back behind the rear seats.

With the doors off, has anyone relocated their side mirrors to the body? If so, what relocation brackets are you using (mopar, rugged ridge, etc)? I'm looking into getting a pair so I can take the doors off and be street legal. Thanks.

Save yourself the hassle and emotional torment. Simply remove, pack, and ship the rack to me. Let me save you the mental torture.....

All that extra work!!!! That sh*t is staying on til the day it's crushed in the bone yard.

On a more serious note....I'll probably get the fastback t-top as soon as my softy wares out. Then slide the t-tops off, take the doors off and ride like I have never rode before

I scratched the hell out of my drivers door putting it back on the clip on my knife did a nice number on it(dumb mistake). But going doorless until it started raining was nice. Also did the cowl mirror mod while I was at it.
