JP magazine

I found my jeep in a full page ad in the June issue. The picture was taken at last years EJS on poison spyder trail.

Is that just a crudely placed AIRAID logo on your front license plate or do you actually have that?

Is there a sign in or waiver for EJS ?

willing to bet it says that any images of your jeep can be used.

Sucks that its air raid, but col that you got ad nonetheless.

Airaid doesn't have to know the jeep is running K&N air and oil filters.

I had that same thing happen to a TJ I owned a few years back, except it was with bumpers. My Jeep showed up in magazine ads for the bumpers I was using. At least in my case I was actually using the bumpers though, not like you showing up in an Air aid add when you're running a K&N filter.

Found pics and article on mine (without consent as well). They got the pictures off a forum ( not JKO ..) Contacted them asking how many wheels they sold because of the article and to get something for it... but they said the article was by a freelance writer and any pics posted were public domain. They said they would give me a $100 dollar towards a set of wheels WTFLOL and told them to and read the fuckin' article ...I just bought wheels you fuckin' idiots.

my Jeep was on 4wd.com for a little while to show the Mickey T rims I have.
I sent the pic to them though after I ordered the wheels from them.

Not sure I would care if a co posted pics of my Jeep for an ad. Anyone who thinks every ad is honest and the vehiclles in the ads actually use the products is a fool.
do you really think an F150 can pull a plane fsat enough to make it take off?

It's cool to see your ride in an ad. IMO

Tough one. The photo is property of the photographer. But...

If they were using your image, it would be a different story, and they would have to have a model form completed. But just using a vehicle is generally considered OK from a legal standpoint.

I have worked in marketing in the offroad industry and can tell you that pulling a stunt like that is considers super low-class. Common practice is, at minimum, to give product, t.shirts, schwag, etc.

No surprise from airraid though. Total snake oil. No respect for any company that sells throttle body spacers.

I'm not after compensation for the use of a photo of my jeep taken on a public trail. It would have been nice of them to offer though. I just thought it was neat to see my jeep in a magazine.

My Jeep is out there on the web on someone elses site. I got sliders for a very nice discount In exchange, though.

One time while searching Google images for Jeep fender flare ideas, I stumbled across a pic of my Jeep that I took:
https://plus.google.com/wm/1/+Extrem...ts/bKT8QfX85jt

This surprised the hell out of me, and pissed me off a bit because they were misinforming people:
Quote:
Wide Fender Flares (http://terrain.jp/flareXTfender) would keep Forum Member ExWrench's Jeep JKR clearner, buy why would you want to do that?!
So I left a comment to set the record straight (in case anyone ever actually reads those things):
Quote:
That's my Jeep, the "Forum" you speak of is JKOwners.com, and wider fender flares would NOT make a difference in that spray pattern . I guess I made that pic public, but was shocked to find that you watermarked and distributed it. Can you do that, legally?
I felt a tiny bit violated, but I got over it quickly once the surprise wore off.
I don't "do" Google+, FaceSpace, Twatter, or even LinkedIn, so I don't know how common stuff like this is.
