Happiness and the Presence of Murphy

So ...this morning started with great weather. Perfect to go topless!! So, I get everything set-up and hook-up my homemade hard top lift, and all is good with the world. I begin pulling out from under the hard top ...now I swore I double checked everything ...then Murphy hit me with a stiff jab ...I forgot to disconnect the wiper connections. SONOFABITCH!!!! Now the fluid connection is non-repairable and the electrical connection housing is busted.

So, anyone dealt with this one. Is this an easy part to get, or is this a trip to the dealership?

Then, later in the day, after removing the last of the stock decals and washing and waxing my Jeep (so pretty), I head off to the gym. When I came back home from the gym ...what do I see in the driveway? Could it be? HOLY CRAP!!! It's my LoD rear bumper!!! No tire carrier yet, but at least my bumper is here. So I got everything ready to begin the project I've been waiting so patiently to start ...then Murphy nailed me with a cross, body hook combination ...there's no hardware. MOTHERF'NHELL!!!

Now I'm sitting in my living room writing this post with two open beers next to me. One for me and one for Mr. Murphy ...if the sombitch is going to screw with me today, he may as well get drunk with me as well . So I wait to see what the UPS man delivers tomorrow.

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

Ahhh, It not just me.....I was starting to think I was the only one. Seems like every time I go to mod something, Murphy has another plan.

It is always worth it though.

6 hours and one snapped/replaced bolt later and my Lod rear bumper/tire carrier is on. In the end I'm very happy with the bumper, but nothing lined up very well. I had to find all kinds of new and creative ways of getting bolts to line up ...and as a former draftsman and project engineer, I'm pretty anal about measurements and marking. Anyway still have to hook up the back-up lights and wait for the 3rd brake light to show up ...then hope that the front bumper will take less that 6 hours. Pics to come soon ...
