Ok, I'm an idiot

So... I broke off the tap for my Hi Lift mount in the hole in the back of my sport bar. I was tryin' to see if it was possible to drill it out from behind (no... the words tap extractor hadn't crossed my mind yet) and removed the seat belt attachment from the from of same sport bar.

While I was dickin' around, the seatbelt retracted a bit more and now it's not long enough to get back to the bolt. How do I release the seat belt locking mechanism?

hold the seat belt retractor in the same way it would be if it were bolted on and it will release. The tap is high strength steel with lots of carbon and you can break it with a chisel, I did the same thing.
