Netbook GPS Program

Looking for a program for my netbook. Something that I can use for GPS and Topo Maps. Any one have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tom

I have a notebook with Mappoint 2009. It's Ok on the road, but no topo. I also use Delorme's Street Atlas USA plus, and it has an interface geared toward smaller screens, and you can overlay topo quads, and even download sattellite images to carry with you.. Delorme also makes some nice Topo USA software and some other mapping applications. they even have a handheld GPS that will take all of the topos and sat images with you on the trail.

Now back to a 2013 JKU Rubicon with "stuff", planning 37's with minimal lift.

I've tried them all... Jeeps are still the best. (0||||0)

Currently use my Droid for Road maps (Google Maps) and still shopping for a good Topo Program but I'm leaning towards either Delorme or OziExplorer as I'm planning to build an on board Multimedia PC.

have any of you tried mobile pc from Garmin. It works great on the netbooks. It comes with street level mapping and you can purchase the new 24k topo maps that are extremely detailed!

Garmin Mobile PC. Then you can use MapSource to manage your data and use tons of freely available topographic maps, trail maps, track data, etc. The software works just like a giant Nuvi device. Install a touchscreen of eBay in your netbook to make it finger friendly even.

2007 Jeep Green Rubicon 4-door with various bits 'n pieces... broken in but not even finished!

I run Overland Navigator (very detail Topo maps and track function) along with the Garmin Mobile PC application on my Fujitsu Lifebook U820. If you do a fair amount of offroading, you'll really like the Overland Navigator application. TrailDamage.com is also a great site to pick up .gpx exchange files for most of the 4x4 areas in the Western U.S - these work with Overland Navigator.

I hope this helps.

Google maps actually has a really decent built in Topgraphical map. You have to activate it. In google maps hit menu>more>Labs...inside is a list of addons you can put into gmaps. All of them are beta test applications that are going to hopefully be added in soon. Lots of good stuff in there. Try it...you will love it. Droid is one awesome phone...best piece of tech I have ever purchased.
