brake grinding problem.....

When i go around a curve or get off an exit ramp where most of the weight is shifted to the left side, my front left brake makes a grinding sound that would be usually reserved for worn out brake pads. Its not my pads, they look brand new, the rotors look fine also. Any suggestions? Its an 07 2 door X

Hmm thats odd....

Mods?

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

Might be a stupid question, but are you sure that it's not your ESP kicking on?

no mods, just some 32" buckshots... its not the ESP, the esp is much more pleasant and it actually slows me down, also it feels like if i pushed down on the brake pedal while its doing this, it might rip something out

My 07 does this sometimes when I am pulling into parking spots. I dont think much about it since it happens once or twice a month.

look at the inside of your rims... there may not be enough backspacing and part of your steering system may be hitting the rims

Recently rotate tires?? Check your lug nuts on that wheel. My wheels will squeal like a pig on a corner if the lugs aren't snugged tight.

You'd swear to god it was brake squeal, but it aint.

Well if it has seriously taken you THIS long to fix the problem or even check this thread after the orignal post then I think there are other issues involved than just grinding breaks...

Thats what the f*#king ESP does on mine when it kicks in . Not very pleasant IMO, almost dangerous as it tends to want to straighten out the wheel on curves. Not a fan of the ESP.

My 07 4 door did it the other day on an off ramp. Felt like I lost my left front brake completely. I would love to know if its happened to anyone else and what the problem was/is. Im thinking bout taking it somewhere but would like to sound a little intelligent in case the repair place tries to fist me!!
