Sliders

I'm looking at sliders for my Unlimited. I've narrowed to Rock Hard (Patriots) and JCR (Classics). My question is in regards to the length; the JCR's appear shorter, maybe 6" to the rear, with the pinch seam exposed. I called and was told that is so that you can trim the seam for larger tires. Looking at the seam, I can't see why you would do major trimming. Anyone run either of these and have comments? Also with the JCR's, I like the steps, but think the salt would cause issues where the powder coat can't/won't reach. Priced the same, so that's not the issue

Powder coat is an electrostatic coating, so it will surprise you where it will go. I wouldn't worry about the finish quality.

I have them for my JKU and they are well built; very stout and everything was nicely welded. Install was straight forward and the instructions were easy to follow. I would definitely buy these again if I needed to.

Trimming was quick and was nothing major. I did put some silicone on the cut afterwards to keep the water out.

I didn't powder coat mine, just cleaned them up, sprayed some primer and some black spray paint. I thought about doing some powder coat but they wind up taking such a beating, it's just easier to clean them up, and spray paint them to make them look decent.
