What else for improved speed

Can you guys give me some ideas to improve acceleration on my 2010 Rubi JK 4 door. It a 6 speed manual and so far I have used the Hypertech superchip and Banks exhaust. I have a 3" lift and 35 inch tires. I will eventually be adding a Ripp supercharger (hemi is too expensive) but I was wondering if there are any other add-ons that would give me better performance on road.

my cold air intake helped but if I had to do it over I would just get a K&N drop in. I'm afraid of getting it wet.

if its speed your looking for the JEEP is a bad choice. I added exhaust and CAI and noticed a small agin, but it was def not worth the $$$$ it cost.

your supercharger will about do it, you could go headers (stay away from JBA), but putting the 35's on there will slow you down a touch. Question: Do you take it offroad? Also, why didn't you buy a sportscar if you want to go fast on the street? I'm not baggin just askin. Finally, you want speed, forget the supercharger save up and get the 6.1 srt8.

"Dude, did you see that Green Jeep out in the parking lot?"

"Yeah, its' mine..."

If you can get around emissions, remove the cats. That should be a substantial improvement especially when you go forced induction.

Guys, make no mistake about it, I know its a Jeep and am fully aware of its speed limitations. But that doesn't negate the desire to use technology to improve on road acceleration. My goal is to maximize both on and off road performance. You cant blame a guy for that. Frankly, I love my jeep and would never consider getting a car. Hell, I sold my 1970 GTO Judge because I desperately wanted another Jeep. Not one regret!

I just got off the phone with one of the reps from quadratec and they said one of the best ways to regain what I lost from stock was to change the gear ring and pinion to 488. Thoughts?

Sloooow Moe

I just ordered the Screamin' Demon coil and plug wires from 4WD.com. They claim you can gap the plugs to .065 and gain quite a few horses. I reckon I'll find out. I have the hypertech, a cold air intake and a sprint booster and together they've made an impact. I'm running 33's on a 2.5 in. lift. Stock gears.

I found that most mods for JK performance are just gimmicks (exhaust, intakes, wires/plugs/coil, fuel injectors, etc). I mean, can you really feel a 2HP increase and would you pay hundreds for it? having said that, the Superchips Flashpaq did make a noticeable improvement in performance, especially taking off from a stop with the 91 tune. But unfortunately for you, I don't think they make them for the 2010s yet.

I've got 37's and 5:13's with a 6 speed and am happy with the performance. That being said, I got dusted by a Ford Taurus - limited yesterday. I laugh when people wanna race me, "Oooh, you beat a Jeep..., now lets take it dirt, mud, rocks, V-notches, etc... Dickhead!"

add more

seriously though, a RIPP (or similar) or HEMI are pretty much it. don't waste the money on intake/exhaust, etc.

+1 Spoilers FTW.

Regear, but then forget about it. You will never be happy with the way your jeep accelerates just like you'd never be happy with the way your GTO performed offroad.

That reminds me. The sales guy told me that I would be unhappy with a hemi swap because of the weight of the engine and transmission. He used that as a selling point for the supercharger.

So you would be unhappy with about double the power because it would weigh about 200lbs more? I know that I have driven a HEMI JK on 35" tires and it was doing 0-60 in the six second range with 4.10 gears.

Key word is SALES.

I listen to sales people but I am very cautious of the infromation they share. Its hard for me to fully trust someone who stands to profit from convincing me to buy their product.

PM Mr Lika and ask him what he thinks about superchargers...and ask him how he's fixing it.

In all fairness it should be "ask him what he thinks about superchargers that need windshield washer fluid as a cooling mechanism"
