Price Check - 09 Rubi

I'm seriously considering picking up an '09 Rubi in the next day or two and wanted to see if the price sounds right.

11K miles, good shape overall, hard top, 6disc/no nav

$29K from a dealer.

Edmunds/KBB say $30-32K, but I can get an identically equipped 2010 for about 34 according to the jeep website.

Thanks!

What can you grab a brand new one for? 33 or so? I would probably take new over the used one for a few grand.

2009 Sahara Unlimited. 5.7L Hemi truck setup. Rock Krawler 5.5 coil over LA. Maxxis Trepador 40's . ATX Rims, XRC front rear and side armor. RROR Crusher corners, RROR flat flares. Warn XD9000i. Prorock 44 with RCV shafts. 5.13 gears, ARB front and rear lockers.

Here's a 2010 for 32000 and it has leather! Not bad. With this in mind I think I'd tell the dealer you are taking a pass on the used one.

Stand your ground and try to get it for 26-27. Did they come off it at all to arrive at 29?

Price difference here is 8k, but there is a point. You'll find out that Rubi Dana 44's aren't dana 44's, I just spent 2500 just in regearing both axles and doing a sleeve and struss kit to the front.

so 8k....
3600 per axle for the dana 60's, geared any way you like it, with ARB's
Atlas Transfer case 2200....I'd go that route, you get the 35 spline axles that you don't have to regear, truss, or pay another 2k later in hardened axles.

2009 Rubicon Unlimited, 4" Long Arm Rancho, 37"MT Baja M/T's, SRC Rear Bumper w/Tire Carrier, XRC Front Bumper, Mile Marker 9.5, Viper Alarm, PureJeep Rockers...PM to ask my opinions

Wife: 99 TJ, 3" Lift, 32's
Had: 99TJ, 5" 35's....

2dr or 4dr? i left the lot for $21k for my 2dr rubicon? I'm wondering why the "x" owner didn't just pay the "extra" 2k and get the Rubicon?

something to think about if you're not going to get crazy with mods...

lifetime powertrain warranty on 09...not on 2010 (i dont think). the warranty still applies on used ones...right?

Life's hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

If it is a dealer demo...YES. If not then NO. The lifetime powertrain is only applicable to the original vehicle owner.

That sounds like the greatest deal in the world!? Are you a jedi? Did you use your jedi powers to make them sell it to you for 21k?
But seriously, that sounds a bit far fetched. What year was it, How many miles did it have, what color is it, and what dealership did you get it from?

you got a Sahara not a Rubicon...both were great deals, but mine I can tell ya for a fact was 1k under wholesale and that's before we started discussing my trade-in. It helps to buy in the last few months of the year as most of the dealerships are quick to unload as much of their "overhead" before the bean counters ransack the joint. Not to mention I got an immediate return on the sales tax by being able to count it on my Fed return two months later.

I picked up a New 08 Rubi a year ago 4dr for $25.6k. Try to find several dealers and call them instead of going down... They'll give you the best deal on phone or email to get you to come down. Also, best time to buy is the last day of the month because they are trying hard to make their Monthly quota that day. BTW I flew to pick up my jk and drove it down 600 miles.

Bought my 08 2-door X new for $21K, with dealer installed "bling Wheels", MT mud terrains, Tow package, and Smittybuilt nerf bars.

I searched / called all over Cali for a brand new Rubi and could not find one for less than 29K, and that was with some miles on it. New ones locally could not be had for less than $32K. Figured I could upgrade to D60, gears, and better lockers for less money.

Some of you guys got smoking deals, if they were for new Rubis. Vehicles are a lot cheaper outside of California.

Actually it will depend upon whether the title is "new" or "used".
