Mine is an auto. I'm running 5.38's with 37's. Honestly it drove better on the highway with the stock 4.10's and 35's. Why? Because I just turned off OD and cruised around at 2800-3000 rpm maintaining the speed limit with no shifting. Now if I were to do that I'd be running 3800rpm at 75mph, so I'm back at the whole upshift/downshift game the entire time I'm on the interstate, or sit in 3rd at 60-65mph and get passed by truckers. And with the 5.38's its still gutless around town too. I should have only gone to 4.88's so that I could still just drive it like a 3spd.
And I agree, the 4dr JK is pretty massive and heavy. It also has the worst power to weight ratio between the XJ, ZJ, and itself by a pretty big margin. With the 6spd manual it is probably a lot more manageable, plus the super charger tuning isn't as critical. With the automatic its just sad and apparently the super charger tuning sucks. I'd honestly be happy with just a 4.7L and 545RFE compared to the gutless drivetrain I've got now.
