NEED HELP ASAP...poly performance drag link flip

Drag link flip came in today with the 7/8 drill bit model adapter. Adapter slips into 7/8 hole on knuckle smoothly to the lip. When I put the drag link in the hole it has a ways left to go (1/8") before the cotter pin will slip in. Instructions say to tighten to 55 lbs or a little more. I went all the way to 80 lbs and its not moving an further. WTF, please help.

2014 JKUR, 3.5" X Factor RK lift, 40" Nitto Trail Grappler's, RIPP supercharger and UD60s.

Did you measure the hole ?

When we switched from a RHD drag link (AEV kit) to synergy DL it wouldn't fit. We had to order the older insert for 13/16

This is frustrating...my only ride to work. I had factory drag link before this...just drilled the 7/8 hole like it said. I dont have a caliper here to measure.

If the bolt tightnen down i wouldn't worry too much. Did you try giving a few taps on top of the tre to see if it will seat a little more?

Did you try this?

**NOTE** – If the cotter pin hole does not align at 55 ft-lbs of torque, remove the flip adapter and check the hole for burrs. The hole in the knuckle may need to be enlarged slightly more for correct installation.

It says not to hammer the adapter into place, maybe the tre is not seated properly? Just trying to help out, I know it's frustrating.

Ended up going to .912 to get it to work just right, drives great and lines up perfectly with the trackbar. One more thing to knock off the list.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Sry, Just saw this.

for anyone doing our flip in the near future here are the updated instructions

http://www.synergymfg.com/instructio...K_INST_V13.pdf

DO NOT TAP/HAMMER the expanding collet type TRE adapter into the knuckle. It should drop in and have the slightest amount of room to expand to allow the TRE to drop down the required amount. If you have to hammer/tap it in, there is nowhere for it to expand as the TRE taper starts to near the major diameter.

If anyone is in a pinch like this please shoot me an email @ [email protected] or [email protected] OR give us a call @ 805-242-0397 for a quick response.

There should be some in there from the factory. Adding a small amount shouldn't hurt but too much will cause headaches and pop boots off like kjeeper10 mentioned. You can't really use the old "until it starts spewing out" theory with these joints because of their design. The sintered metal on metal design didn't leave a ton of room for grease in comparison to your typical OE style replacement because we were going for the most surface area possible. We cut a few "veins" into the ball of the TRE to aid in lubrication. Check out the link below for a visual representation of the veins.

It had some grease in there so I'll leave it alone. Def a beefy product and seems to be functioning well.
